Oil reservoir noise

Post by Pawel » Fri Oct 18, 2024 11:16 am

Hi All. After oil change I got noise coming from oil reservoir, taken car to Mrc and both PCV replaced( primary and secondary)but no change,it makes noise only when idling and I can feel vibration on it. Any suggestions guys? Thanks you

It's most likely the oil separator cyclone in the top of the oil tank. Mine did the same after an engine out job then gradually faded over a few weeks. The engine has been out a couple of times since then but the noise (like a loud hum) never returned.

Hi Jim. Thank you for your reply. Oil separator replaced on top of the tank, Mrc replaced also secondary PCV but no improvements, noticed today pipe between separators is shaking time to time when idling, it’s very strange because it’s happening straight after oil service, it’s a very low mileage car 26k
