Injector fault

Post by Newb » Tue Jan 30, 2024 11:04 am

Good morning everyone, its been a while.

last time i posted about an engine drop and all's well in that regard.

the new challenge is that cylinder #6 is not partaking in the festival of explosions that keeps us going forward at a steady pace.
all faults point towards it's injector, which means that i will be checking the injector and all cables involved.

in case it IS the injector, do i replace only #6 or do i replace all 10?
in case its cable issues... what part would i need to replace.

looking forward to hearing from you all!

If it's the injector it depends on how old the set is. If they're all the originals then best to replace the lot - it's amazing how bad they can be without appearing to effect the way the engine runs.
If it's wiring then you need a good autoelectrician to pin-point the fault and possibly perform a cut and splice repair. I believe that the loom for the left side injectors is more complex than that for the right.

i was also wondering if this could help prevent it from happening again and at what interval (if any) it should be used:

additive/cleaner: G001780M3 / G001770A2

i really hope its jus this one unit thats faulty, thankfully i do know a very experienced autoelectrician but eh, those jobs take time..
