2008 RS6 EVAP error P0441

Post by Icarus » Sun Nov 12, 2023 10:31 am

Good morning all

I have recently purchased a 2008 RS6 Avant and apart from the woeful MPG I just cant get enough of driving it!

But it has one niggly fault, I have a P0441 error, EVAP incorrect flow and it comes with a check engine light.

The car drives just fine with this fault and I can clear it with VCDS but of course it re-appears a few engine cycles later.

I have taken the N80 EVAP valve off and checked it on my bench with a power supply and it operates fine, I can hear it clicking and I can blow/not blow through it as expected.

The wiring looked leading to it looked a bit ropey and indeed did break when I was plugging it all back togather! At the sametime the A/C stopped working so I decided to drop her off at a
local garage to sort the A/C and repair the wiring for me. They had recently removed CP from my other 07 plate A6 after the gateway module died and was replaced.

They fixed the A/C, faulty pressure sensor, and wiring to the N80 valve but after testing it all they still could not get the N80 valve to operate on the car and suspect that the fault lies within one of the ECU's, as in the componant on the circuit board that operates the valve has failed.

So, has anyone come across a similar problem? Which of the 2 engine ECU's is it? (I forgot to ask!) I can send the ECU's off to get tested but at £400+vat each to sort I'd like to know for sure this is indeed the cause!

Thanks
Pete
