Hello again.. the fun never stops with the RS6 lol.
Dropped my car off a couple of weeks ago for a bit of paintwork including sorting a bit of rust on the tailgate.
Picked up the car today and both of my keys would not lock or unlock the car and I was getting an ignition fault (see pic) along with the battery light.
Any ideas? Will speak to the bodyshop on Monday to check if the bootlid/any plugs were removed as part of the repair. It could be something completely unrelated of course...
Car starts and drives fine off the key.

Re: Ignition lock / remote fault
Thanks for this.
I was thinking did something get messed about with whilst at the bodyshop or is it something like this (completely unrelated and a pure coincidence in terms of timing). Difference here is my car starts and drives. The one in the video didn't.
What is this part called?
Might get a replacement part and give it a try.

Re: Ignition lock / remote fault - update/fix included
Right guys, a quick summary in case anyone else comes across the same issue.
Fault was as follows -
No steering lock,
Push start button not working,
Stop button worked but wouldn't lock steering wheel when held down,
Both remotes not working
MMI not turning off.
You may or may not get warning lights on the dash.
Fix -
Ignition barrell/switch replacement.
If you match the part number off the back of the original part you can use a 2nd hand part.
Your original key(s) will work in the replacement barrell as long as the part numbers match.
It's a very straight forward DIY fix.
Remove centre panel/air vents (2 clips in the middle and will slide out).
To remove the barrell, it's just 2 8mm bolts and a few plugs behind.
