An annoying fault started today... The exterior drivers side door handle won't open the door when the car is unlocked. It does however open when the handle on the inside is pulled. Once opened from the inside handle it works again from the outside. However, when locked and unlocked again, it doesn't work.

I plugged in the Vagcom and the fault code below flagged up. I noticed the interior red lock light (next to the lock/unlock button) doesn't work when the lock button is pressed but I can hear the locks engaging (not sure if from the drivers side door though). I tested the lock with Vagcom and it locked the door (interior lock light came on) but as soon as I opened the door again (using the inside handle) it stopped working again.

Does this sound like the door lock motor needing replacement?

Quick update regarding this in case anyone has the same issue in the future.
It was the door lock motor.
A little fidly for the mechanic to change but nothing too difficult.
All sorted.
