Those are the bits I fitted. The cable is already fitted with some heat/abrasion protection sleeve and a number of tie-wraps which just push into mounting holes.

What did you use to protect it from heat? Do you have a link to what you used?

It was stuff I had in my garage. A Thermo-Tech (I think) starter cover in aluminumised glass cloth and a loom sleeve of simmilar material.

Starter done along with the cable! Starts up beautifully now. Jim - thanks for your help.

Had I seen this post I would've advised earlier, sorry! Same for anyone looking at this, get it done as soon as you have the issue, in my experience it only gets worse and then ends up on a flatbed lol as mine and this person here's did too. I had the same issue 1yr after I bought mine, similar mileage around 120k. Went through the houses on various diagnoses but ultimately it was the starter motor. I got caught out and ended up without a car for a few weeks. Engine needs to be dropped as everyone's said but that's a good opp to fix oil leaks and change o-rings etc.
