What's this?

Post by Imola_Sid » Fri Sep 16, 2022 11:01 am

Found this is in the glovebox.

I thought it was a phone/a2dp connector but not finding anything on my phone when searching Bluetooth.

Any ideas?

Would have been my first guess. Have you checked the MMI media section to see if there are multiple sources listed?

I had one similar and needed a power source via the USB to work.

Thanks for the replies. Anyway to power it without having cables exposed?

I would test this device first as the USB powered Bluetooth device I tried (which looks like yours does) sounded absolutely awful when I tried streaming any music over it. It only came through the left speakers, the volume was very low and it sounded not far off an older AM Radio rather than a nice modern Spotify stream so I'm 100% sure I had a "bad" unit which, being made of Chinese-ium, could be a common theme if it's been left unpowered in your car.

Bought a cheap usp socket. Removed the glovebox and drilled a hole in the side to but the usb socket through. Then connected it to a power source. Think I tapped into something like the glovebox light. Originally soldered it but have since switched it out for a connector as when soldered it technically meant the glove box was permanently attached as the wires couldn't be disconnected.
