Key sync for central locking

Post by RS4_Dan » Tue Jul 05, 2022 8:40 pm

I can’t believe I am even asking - but having failed to get any of the online key sync procedures to work…

After a recent battery replacement I have been unable to get the remote lock / unlock to work on the key fob (I only have one key fob)

I could always do it first time on my old b7 rs4

Can someone help and put me out of my misery with the correct sync procedure?

Thanks in advance.

Ok. So the car isn’t seeing the signal from the remote, even with the new battery (2nd new battery). So recommended a new key.

But just found out that being a Japanese import the remote locking frequency is 315mhz. Whilst the uk is meant to be 433 mhz I understand from searching online that the rs6 is 868mhz.

Can anyone confirm the part number of their key? I have the Kessy option.

Secondly does anyone know where the remote locking receiver is? I can’t believe it is included in the comfort control unit.

So what key pet numbers do you have? 🍻

Part number visible on my key unit body is 4F0837220AK. And it's marked 868MHz. I know there are a number of antenna around the car but as for the receiver I think that its mounted on inside the car on the engine bulk head just behind the glove box. But I wouldn't bet my life on that - or put money on it either.

Thanks Jim.

Starting to understand why the garage couldn’t fix the remote locking!

Anyone any thoughts on what I need to do to convert 315mhz to 868mhz? Is it just the antenna (wherever that is) or the comfort unit or the door control units?

A new key is going to be costly if I get the wrong version.
