Help needed with engine fault code please anyone.
Help needed with engine fault code please anyone.
Can anyone shed any light on what the attached photo is telling me, any help.or advice would be great the BV's move freely in the airboxes and the vac lines appear to be ok.
Has anyone else had this code?
Has anyone else had this code?

This is all I could find at the moment. I suspect perhaps looking at any vaccum hoses around the diverted valve on bank 2 side?

Thanks VaudiGR I'm going through it all at the moment.. so many hoses to check. I suspect its the solenoid.
Re: Help needed with engine fault code please anyone.
If we are talking the diverted valves at the bottom of the air boxes (and to be honest, the error could equally refer to the wastegates?) then I think it’ll be a physical problem with one valve or the other. The code refers to a specific side, but both valves actuate off the same solenoid and have a common supply line.
On my car a diaphragm failure on one side caused a vacuum leak that stopped both valves from working. I got a P2261, boost pressure control mechanical malfunction error in that case as neither valve was operating.
The valves can be checked with a cheap vacuum tester like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hand-Held-Br ... 635-2958-0
A good valve will hold vacuum and you can see it actuate. I ended up replacing the failed valve with a forge motorsport valve, there’s a guide on here somewhere.

Hi BobBobson I've done all the vac line checks today and also the diaphragms and all ok so must be a solenoid, I have also fitted the 2 Forge BV valves today, will refit it all tomorrow and do a test run. Thanks for the reply.

Silly question - was it a "one off" fault code which disappeared after deleting and hasn't come back or is a persistent code which comes back after deletion?
With the vast majority of faults codes just a simple delete is enough as the "fault" is just a momentary glitch on an ECU or sensor with no lasting impact. It's more rare to get an actual hard fault which can't be deleted, so I always delete my fault codes first then go for a quick drive to see if they come back which confirms it's a real fault.

Id agree with Ian there.
Also I'm not so fond of the forge units. They have a tendency of sticking in the future and with them being in a tough spot to remove and re-grease, it could be an issue

Hi, its a real fault i have cleared it several times but the car flutters like crazy under hard acceleration, no power as such, you can hear air being dumped, drives lovely at low speeds but the issue kicks in at motorway speeds mainly.

Re: Help needed with engine fault code please anyone.
I suspect that the fault is pointing at a wastegate actuator rather than a recirculation valve.
Re: Help needed with engine fault code please anyone.
Hi Jim, yes that's what I am starting come to terms with, might just be tye N75 valve as the turbos were only redone about 2 years ago, still can't get to that valve easily.
Re: Help needed with engine fault code please anyone.
I was going to say, are the n75 valves reachable without an engine out?
Re: Help needed with engine fault code please anyone.
I can just get my fingers on the NS one but to get all the little hoses on and off might be impossible, I have big hands too which doesn't help, ill have a look at this today before I put the airboxes back on.
