something to bear in mind with the Wagner upgrade is that the secondary water radiators are no longer directly behind the intercoolers, thus increasing the airflow through the larger coolers and reducing the heatsoak from the water radiators, and i would guess that the fans are mainly for the water radiators rather than the intercoolers

Yes in an ideal situation the fans would fit where the radiators were relocated. That would require a completely custom cross bar

As I understand the Wagner intercoolers occupy the space used by the stock ICs plus the space occupied by the stock water coolers . The fans can fit on the front of the Wagner ICs, and there probably isn't room for them behind.

The Wagner kit comes with a new cross bar already, needed to fit the new water coolers in front of the existing radiator

I know that. I meant customising that as well

I think there would be a benefit in using a suck through rather than blow through fan configuration.

With blow through, there's a significant tangential component to the air flow coming out of the fan. The flow is twisting and turbulent rather than straight, so the air hits the IC core at an angle. A suck-through fan is generally more efficient, as long as it has a good duct. However, in this case I think there might not be room.

In addition, removing the water coolers DOES NOT improve ambient air flow through the IC because the increase in IC thickness makes up for the reduction in cooler restriction. These Wagner IC really are rather thick and may have reached the point of diminishing returns. i.e. if the cores were any thicker, the reduction in ambient airflow may be greater than the gains in charge cooling, and you would actually get poorer performance. However, going by Wagner's test results, they haven't got that far.

It makes sense that the fans are there for the radiators rather than the intercoolers, so yes keeping them with the wagner intercoolers doesn't really make sense
