Unusual paint code

I've been trying to discover what colour my RS6 is painted, it doesn't seem to match any of the the metallic black Audi you have up paints I've tried.
The Sticker in the "spare wheel" well has all the options listed and the interior colours listed but the paint codes are blank.
The local dealer contacted the factory for me,and because its an RS6 plus Audi exclusive far more colours were available but I now know that it came from the factory with MERCEDES OBSIDIAN BLACK 197.....so it came with Mercedes paint which rather surprised me, or is this fairly common?
