Stumbled across the above. May be of interest to someone. It's a shame there aren't more of the C6 RS6. Makes aftermarket parts rare and usually pricey.

Looks decent. Have you bought?
Also, do you have your own car/project/build thread? I often find your posts and questions relevant to my car :D

Sorry I should have been clearer. I haven't bought it. My car currently has a Miltek system on it with a secondary cat delete. There is nothing wrong with it at my current power level of 700bhp. I don't plan on chasing big power so a larger bore system isn't necessary. It was just in case it was of some interest to anyone. Similarly I've been looking into options to recore the oem intercoolers rather than replace with the expensive aftermarket ones. Particularly for people with mild power.

Looks reasonable quality and I'm looking for a system at the moment, (currently MRC downpipes into standard system)......however no resonator option and NO crossover (H or X pipe) at all.

I'm probably going to go for a resonated Supersprint or the valved Sturmbock system (maybe the resonated Miltek), opinions on these different systems would be very welcome

Have a word with Darren Field at Radtec, i bought a second hand pair of OEM coolers off ebay and he re-cored them with their own design that are a few percent more efficient than the marston cores ready for my TTE1000 conversion. he charged me £1000+vat for a pair. He's also built me a custom WMI tank for the spare wheel well, approx 29 litres, baffled and rear fed that will use the same centre retaining mechanism. Will get photos when done.

I also ordered the KEW 3" system as wanted to ditch the X pipe part and Miltek were not interested. https://www.kwe-racing.de/Audi/Audi-S6- ... :1044.html

Got a pallet of parts waiting to goto RE Performance for the build, just waiting to Teo to build a gearbox for me to 1300nm and we are off I think :-)

Flip sake 😂 you could've had my old 3" system which is currently with Ricky 🙈

My own fault for not being on here often I suppose lol

Why do people want to avoid the X or H pipes?

I agree with you, but wonder what your reasons are.

Cheers, Nick

Please excuse the off-thread excursion, but could you whet our appetites with what you're planning to have done?

Thanks, Nick

Just a heads up, back in '16 for my 900+ build I had those same parts and MRC said they didn't need to use the LOBA pumps if you're also using the bigger injectors with Doug saying it's a "one or the other, not both" situation for everything upto 1100hp (IIRC) so it might be worth contacting Doug and seeing if that is still the case as it might save you some money.

Hi Ian,

Good shout, I do remember you writing about this before. Since I am already into the car for far more than I should be figured we should just do the lot. There is always a chance that when Ricky pulls the engine we may need a rebuild/new block etc. as after 156k miles and some interesting issues along the way it may be complete dog toffee.

will keep you in the loop on developments and/or whether Ricky gets cheesed off with working on a high mileage rs6 :P

I'm not certain, but I have a sneaky feeling that bigger injectors probably aren't needed on this engine. Bigger injectors are usually used where the increased fuel flow demand means the injectors are running near full duty cycle, say 80-90%. I think that's the sort of threshold where tuners say that you really need to upgrade to avoid the risk of running lean at the top end, or maybe doing some harm to the injectors themselves.

However, all that stuff applies to indirect / port injectors, which can have a long duty cycle. The RS6 V10 uses direct injection, which uses high pressure and short injections during the compression cycle. It's not unlike a diesel engine, though still using spark ignition. Therefore the V10 injectors don't run close to full duty, but some tuners can pull the wool over peoples eyes because it sounds credible. So I'd need convincing that injector upgrades are necessary.

I think the LP and HP fuel pumps are another matter though. They're quite likely to need upgrading for high power builds.

Nick

I have got to the point where spending another couple of thousand on bits is becoming a day to day on this car, whilst other builds may get away without doing the injector upgrade, just going to do it as a matter of course. Would have thought it should give the most flexibility in terms of tuning and safety being able to empty the fuel tank in record time :-)

156k miles on a C6 RS6 is still low miles for one Ricky has worked on 8)

Yours is very similar to mine!
