Well that was a pain. The downpipes and the new flexible units weren't exactly the same size so they took some fitting but they're together. It wasn't until I welded it that I noticed that I'd got the left pipe fractionally rotated from my alignment marks but hopefully it won't matter. Turned out that the LH flexy wasn't in great nick either, if I'd left it I reckon I'd have been doing the job again in a year or so.
As I'm 99% of the way there I'm going to take the RH turbo off to see if I can find the source of the hum I've mentioned in another thread as to settle my curiosity I took a look at the oil feed pipes this morning and the rh pipe was suspiciously dry compared to that of the left.
