Am I a Nutter?

So it needs a good clean before I put up pics but for now, this should say enough:

I was on the way home from a camping trip and it was along the way. Thought to myself "would be pretty cool to have a pair of twin turbo 10's"

It's a 2004 Phaeton. I currently have a Citroen C6 that I got from my dad and the Phaeton is both cheaper to tax and insure (although I realise it's about as horrid on fuel as the RS).

I read a few articles about the Touareg V10, and though I don't remember everything, it did stand out as being a very strange engine. It's really not like anything else, VW went their own way for some reason. Its a tight fit, and the engine has to come out for all sorts of ordinary jobs. I've heard lots of horror stories. I would say go in with your eyes open.

I ran a Touareg V10 for a year and 10,000 miles.
It was a big deal for me because I earn little money.
However, most jobs can be done with the engine in the car but not all.
How this equates to the Phaeton , i don't know.
Do plenty of research .

My V10 was mapped to 360 hp and just shy of 700 ft Lb .
I used it for towing a 3.5 tonne trailer and it was epic.
They are not trustworthy but blood good fun .

Yeah, I did a bunch of reading and the consensus was that they are really quite reliable other than the turbos. These ones have already been replaced with a pair from turbo developments that they say should be good for 400-420bhp, but it hasn't been tuned yet. It's got 58k miles on it.

It's really quite something to be in.

Mine drained batteries in the winter.
It went into limp mode just after I had overtaken a load of traffic and I never found out why.
But it always started and went
They suffer from oil leaks but seem to be generally decent .

Got under mine today to check the trans fluid and I didn't see a drop of oil anywhere (unlike the RS...)

Got around to giving it a clean:

Handsome. I always liked the Phaeton shape.
