Rear Diff

Post by pete2144 » Sat Jul 25, 2020 12:38 pm

Afternoon,

so my rear diff has given up, I've managed to source a good used one, was just wondering on oil type and how much does it take?
what is the best for a modified car?
mine is running 907ps 1200nm, so I assume I should use something high performance?

cheers Pete.

Hi Pete - I used Motul 300 in my 900+ car, alongside a few other Stage 2 owners. It takes about 1.25L to fill but most importantly -

make sure you remove the top mounted fill plug BEFORE you remove the lower mounted drain plug and drain the old oil out, just to make sure you can actually refill it afterwards.

thanks Ian!

I will probably do the oil before I change the Diff over.

Is the fill plug on the side, and do I fill until it comes out?

cheers.
