So after 4 weeks of ownership the car started to smaller a bit
Only smoked if left after a drive
Started to smoke on and off for a few days so thought I’d leave it parked up and wait for MRC to reopen to get checked over
Anyway emailed MRC and they said I can drop it off and Doug would have a look at it when he has time
Emailed them back to get details etc but no reply
So left it parked up for about a week and started to drive it again
No smoke
Then 1 day after started to smoke again
Anyway dropped it off to Dave @allmotion and have been informed it’s the turbos
So car is mrc stage 2
Will be going the hybrid turbo route so once engine is out turbos will be sent off to get rebuilt
Then will be getting dropped off to hardknockspeedshop for 3” system all the way
Then back to Dave for a remap
Anything you guys should recommend changing while engine is out?
50p oil seals were done about a year ago
Along with coolant pipes
Thanks
Shaz

Re: Turbos gone ............
Sorry to hear that.
When you say smoke, do you mean out of the exhaust?
Is there any sign of oil directly from the turbos themselves?
Are there any other tell-tales like oil in coolant or water in oil etc?

Re: Turbos gone ............
It certainly is! Was the engine removed to get them out?
Biturbos don't usually fail together, but If one of the turbos has gone, the other is probably close behind.

Rocker cover gaskets are weeping a bit
So will get them changed
Also had a very tiny coolant leak which also will be getting sorted
Then off to the lads @hardknockspeedshop to get the 3” system made
Re: Turbos gone ............
I had a similar issue. No smoke during driving, but occasionally blue smoke on start. Found up to 1 liter of oil in the intercoolers, more on the right side than left. Had the turbos refurbished (actually twice, because the workshop believed that the refurbisher did not make a good job) and afterwards had heavy grey smoke from both exhausts only when the car was standing for a while and not on every start. The workshop had no explanation, so took the car back home and start my own research. In the end, it turned out that a non-return valve inside the oil module did not close properly and oil went from the catch can through the return lines and the turbos into the cats and the intercoolers. After replacing the oil module (unfortunately there a no spare parts available for this expensive piece of technology () everything has been fine now for two years. Unfortunately, the emission check at the German TUEV revealed that my cats suffered from the heavy oil contamination.
