Re: C6 build stage ....... who knows
Rods from JE? JE are famous for making pistons, but I don't think they make rods. They do sell Boostline rods, which are made by Wiseco (and are very good).
Regarding the pistons - are they custom for your application? JE seem to be very flexible about that sort of thing.
You must have settled on the compression ratio now. Do you mind me asking what CR you've gone for?
Nick
EDIT: Love to see some pictures when you get them!

Rods and pistons from JE yes and custom made, hence the time scales and them taking forever. Raised compression slightlywelwynnick wrote:Rods from JE? JE are famous for making pistons, but I don't think they make rods. They do sell Boostline rods, which are made by Wiseco (and are very good).

Very nice. Shiny on top, but Tuff Skirt moly coating on the sides, no exhaust valve cut-outs and domed top like the stock pistons, but otherwise similar to JE Lambo pistons with forged side relief and accumulator grooves between the compression rings (though the gudgeon pin sits lower than the 92.8mm stroke pistons).
Have your connecting rods arrived as well?
Cheers, Nick

Delighted with them, JE rated to 1500hp so I reckon we have enough room to play with

The thing is, with 10 cylinders and a forged bottom end, even 150bhp/pot isn't pushing your luck.
I always thought we haven't seen the best yet from the RS6, and this is an exciting journey.

Re: C6 build stage ....... who knows
I think this is build you were referring to in your first post (1200-1400+ HP Build with a billet version of this engine with charge coolers, custom manifold, precision turbos etc)
I kept in touch with S4P for a while, but it's gone quiet ......

Yes indeed, there is only 1 of these projects currently being made .. I did not saw this post or knew he was active here. This is literally top of the line I hope there is no mayor standstills or issues? I do know that creating a 3D image (CAD?) of a new engine for billet production or 1 off project, and getting it done is extremely expensive. All the best from Holland for this one.welwynnick wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 12:12 pmI think this is build you were referring to in your first post (1200-1400+ HP Build with a billet version of this engine with charge coolers, custom manifold, precision turbos etc)

Re: C6 build stage ....... who knows
There are a few companies in the US that make V10 billet engines, but they're expensive. I think they're only used over 2000 bhp though.
I'm thinking about doing a similar project, though with a stock block.
