New RS6 owner

Evening Chaps,

I've been a B7RS4 owner and forum lurker for the past 2.5 years and was considering a C5 RS6 recently, viewing a nice Mugello avant at a dealer recently I thought it was the car for me. Fate intervened when speaking with MRC (who had seen the car fairly recently) explained it had been reported to have had a number of oil leaks (nothing too alarming but alarming enough all the same), it dawned on me that whilst they are awesome cars, even the best ones are getting towards 20 years old and maybe not have had the money spent they require.

I then considered a B8RS4, however, the styling isn't really for me and a circa 1800kg kerb weight (150kg heavier than the B7), I didn't think it would give me the fizz I was looking for. As a teenager watching Top Gear, the alpine race with Hammond in the RS6 had left a mark and when I found a C6 Plus in the same colour as my RS4 (Mugello), it felt like the right car for me and a deal was done weekend before last.

One owner for 8 years, last chap only had it for 12 months so I'm the third custodian. I'm still getting my head around what's included as standard fitment on the Plus but according to the Audi spec sheet, it has Audi Exclusive leather package 2 in valcona metallic, electric steering column, adaptive cruise, audi parking system advance, homelink and the UV glass.

Milltek non res is fitted along with filters and an APR stage 1...I know the default is MRC and I will no doubt take it up there for servicing and a possible map, however, 654bhp and 1015nm seems ample coming from 420bhp and 459nm :FIREdevil:

Next step is to change my garage door as 213cm feels a tad tight on entry...

Apologies for the war and peace, I'm hoping COVID-19 doesn't spoil my fun as I hope to use it every weekend, especially now spring seems to have sprung. Photos below, thanks for reading!

Kristian

That looks great! Was it the one from Luton? Can I ask what you paid for it as I am considering selling my C6 plus avant with 32k miles? You can dm me if you want.

Thanks all for your positive comments! I've always liked a saloon coming from an a4, Impreza's and the RS4 but I can appreciate the avant is the preferred body style for most. I'm sure you're all feeling the same as me around looking forward to the summer months when hopefully the brunt of COVID-19 will have passed and we can all enjoy our cars again!

As others have attested, MPG around town is hilarious but I'm impressed with circa 24mpg on the motorway cruise. Having family in St Ives (365 miles away from my house in Essex), I was always frustrated that the RS4 would only manage 353 miles when driven like a saint...with a bit of hooning the RS6 will manage the journey on one tank...(JUST).

I feel privileged to own such a rare car as I'm sure you all are and look forward to dispatching a few unsuspecting m4's in the coming months :bigwave:

Avant's are faster :biggrin3:

I'm in Colchester if you need access to a VCDS and haven't got.

Looks great (shame not a 'Vant) ;)

Haha cheers bud, I've got OBD Eleven which seems to work well for fault reading and making a few high level changes (although it does not support coding like VCDS). I'm Leigh-on-Sea so not far :-)

Mine's MRC stage 2. 770ps 1100+Nm if you want to meet up sometime after this nightmare's over, also Demand Engineering full custom exhaust which is EPIC.
