Today's job has been replacing the bonnet release cable as the plastic clip at the lock end was less than secure, being in 3 pieces.
The Elsawin instructions are straight forwards - remove this piece of trim, disconnect cable at lock, disconnect cable at release lever, refitting is reverse of removal.
Er - no. Not unless you've some way of being able to work on the other side of pieces of trim - I've even had to work back to removing both pieces of B pillar trim, discovering that a couple of clips are damaged and one isn't there at all. Not to mention that I had the wiper scuttle off too because I couldn't see where the cable disappeared under the fuse box.
Anyway, that's not the WTF? - I was leaning over the front of the car (no bumper on it at the moment) which put pressure on the key in my pocket, there was an odd noise which was all 4 windows and the sun roof opening. Not withstanding that the offside rear then refused to close more than halfway the reopened, is that (the windows and sunroof) something programmed into the key? I know - RTFM, but I haven't got access to mine until I get back to work on Monday..
OK, WTF now?

Re: OK, WTF now?
Sometimes life isn't easy is it?
About a year ago I bought a doer-upper project car and set to work fixing things. I removed the bonnet slam panel over the radiator, but didn't put it back right, and didn't align the bonnet catches right. I had to slam the bonnet hard, but didn't think much of it, dinner was overdue.
Next day I couldn't open the bonnet. I tried everything. I couldn't drive the car because I'd removed so much stuff.
Now what?

IIRC holding down the "Unlock" button on the remote (which could happen in your pocket when leaning on something) opens the windows, sunroof etc as well as unlocking the doors. The opposite is also true where holding down "Lock" closes everything - doors, windows and sunroof etc.

That'll be it then Ian - thanks.
I changed the release cable because I had a nagging thought that the remains of the clip would go walkabout and I wouldn't be able to open the bonnet. I've recently found out from this YouTube video that with a couple of rather basic tools the latch on a C6 can be released from below - though it might be a bit of a struggle with the oil cooler pipe being in the way.
