Don....current steer is a 520d estate as a runaround. Loving the extra money every month now the M3 has gone but need to get a weapon again. Seeing reviews like this aren’t good for my sanity as my renewed budget (don’t want to be shelling out too much anymore) means a C7 is slightly too much and a C6 is well within reach....

As anyone can remember at the time my one big regret was not tuning my C6 when I had it and jumping into a too expensive C7. Should’ve kept the C6, tuned it and then got a C7 when the prices came down.
Something about RS6’s that sit very very well with me.

Have you been in a stage 2 C6 since? With the imminent C8, C7 prices will surely drop faster for you.

I tested two tuned C6’s before I bought my own stock one and the feeling I had was of a runaway NASA rocket but you know how that feels everyday Don!
Am hoping that C7’s will be dropping with the C8, time will tell as the C8 in reality is a £100k + car which is a lot of money in anyone’s language for a car.
I note that C6’s have dropped (you can pick one up for £16k now) but as we both know there are some real abused dogs out there which will be a monster money pit.

Even though the C8 is £100k+ it will mean many trade-ins, and as the C7 sold well should impact prices I would have thought. Good luck this time round!
I bought mine for £26k over 5 years ago, pretty good depreciation really for me, even if I only got £16k for it now. Had worse!
I'll probably be looking seriously next year for a new car (not new new) would love to keep mine as well but not sure practicable. Doubt I will go C7, have started to look at 911's. Difficult to think of a car to replace mine

Well that’s a no brainer! C7 was better than the C6 (although the loss of the V10 was sad) and so the C8 will by default (hopefully) be better than the C7 (although the Rev limiter while static is a bit of a daft thing imo)

Why is a limited rpm while the engine is under no load daft?
Imo it's a bit daft to redline an engine while stationary or not under heavy load. But if you like glazed bores and worn rings by all means try to bypass the useful safety feature!

This I agree with. My N54 engine used to have that at 4K, and I thought that was the smartest thing ever.
Side benefit was it helped pass sound emissions on some tracks, since at 4K rpm the engine wasn't _that_ loud.
