Post by Vux » Sun Nov 10, 2019 9:34 am

Hi I am in the market for a v10 rs6 and am interested in this one:

Would like to know what you guys think it's worth. The service history appears incomplete should that be a concern
Many thanks

This was for sale in the classifieds for a while -

viewtopic.php?f=63&t=132847

It looked a nice car, but for me the aftermarket privacy tints were a no.

Yes I thought similarly regarding it’s history, and a forum member relatively new to RS246 while having owned the car for a long time, while not in any way conclusive, didn’t stack up for me.

Yep, the tints are a bit OTT. The misalignment of the exhaust tips would trigger my OCD as would the incorrect fitting of the hose clips on the right throttle body.
As for the service history, it's a 10 year old car and has only done 36K miles, if it was a colour combo I like and I didn't already have my car it's one I'd think seriously about.

Really nice vehicle / colour combo.

For serious buyers i'd advise inspecting the car (if possible) in vivo.

Not a deal breaker but i I'd expect it to have couple extras such as normal or solar roof and more importantly k'less entry.

I have just had it inspected and have definitely dodged a bullet lol.
If anyone has a well maintained rs6 v10 with no hidden surprises do get in touch.

Any clues, then?

Spill the beans then! Advert seemed a bit oddly made up to me.

Maybe something to do with the variable oil change service interval (5 years / 21k miles!)

Nice looking car, but not quite what I'd consider "the fastidiousness to relentlessly maintain the car regardless of cost".

This was my mechanics report after his inspection for those that are interested:
unfortunately this RS6 is a total dog - it was fully resprayed following significant damage all over. I managed to find only one part which has been neither damaged nor resprayed - NSF door sill and B-pillar. There were structural repairs on the offside, also it was significantly hit to the NSF and NSR corners, the entire front end has been dismantled.
Engine has multiple oil leaks and is significantly corroded.
From what I saw, the real mileage is at least 70-80k mls.
The list of defects in this car is absolutely countless, so you simply need to avoid it.

So you're going to buy it then?

Serious.

Please tell me it’s not this car that has just sold for £23000

Wasn't this the particular RS6 which was on coparts within the last year, previously discussed here too?

The plate looked very familiar to me when I saw the advert.

One on copart was smashed to pieces

Jesus.

I just bid 23k for this.

Have we got the right car here?

The Sepang Blue 36k miles Avant. V10BVE?

If that inspection did take place and all those findings were true then I cannot see how the auction house allowed the vehicle to remain on sale through them as they were storing it for the seller; so the inspection must have been on their premises.

Grizz from Unit 20 would have apparently vouched for the car so said the description.

It did have an awful lot of interior trim replaced looking at the Unit 20 invoices.

Or the OP was trying to put people off bidding by making this whole thing up! Lol

Yes it was the same car. I was as shocked as you.
I had a full inspection performed on monday which found the faults.
The auction house were informed and were not interested.
