Engine bay error codes
Engine bay error codes
hi guys,
i have been monitoring my vehicle and have noticed that couple error codes appear on the car every now and then. here is a list and i was wondering if any of you have any thoughts/suggestions what could be the cause?
ps. i recently replaced the main radiator on the car.

Looks to me like there's an issue with one of the radiator fans from when the new rad was installed?
That looks to cover code 1 & 2, code 3 refers to needing to scan the second ECU for faults
Re: Engine bay error codes
cheers - I'll get in touch with a garage later for them to (re)inspect.
Other than emissions related 'fault' (probably due to lack of mid/rear cat's) i do not get other any codes on Engine Bank 2.
I suppose one question from my side is if the lambda / O2 sensor is faulty or on it's way out, would it cause error listed above? And more importantly, should i be worried ?
Thanks!

Re: Engine bay error codes
Is it not from the fans being disconnected without the battery being disconnected first? It's linked to your work done in my eyes. I'd have the codes reset and check in a few days time that they don't come back.
Re: Engine bay error codes
I doubt that battery was disconnected. Are you suggesting that it may be worth checking the fuse/s?
FYI - I do scan the car periodically (say every 3-4 weeks) and this does indeed come up each time it's done. One other thing that I noticed is that fan is running at relatively high speed/rpm every time i start the car warm (normal operating temp).

Re: Engine bay error codes
Does the fan go off when you turn off the A/C?
Re: Engine bay error codes
Yes, it does .
Any suggestions of what could be going wrong / what needs addressing? Assume it has very little with rad work i did recently?

Re: Engine bay error codes
It could be signs to the resistors on their way out. This was an issue with mk4 golfs. But it could just be normal. I think mine was always on when the A/C was on.
Re: Engine bay error codes
Cheers.
Is that resistors on the actual radiator fan i guess?
