RS6 DRC banjo bolt

Just trying to see if this a problem for C6 RS6 owners on their DRC.

I had a phone call from my local Audi dealer asking if I could help out.
They had a C6 in for DRC problems and on removing the banjo from the shock unit it snapped off.
I haven't seen the exact location as they sent me pictures of the bolt and their driver bought it over to me to have a look at.
Now from my understanding this is not a part that is available separately, only as part of a new shock.
They stated it is not an isolated problem.

I had a look at the bolt and it is made from a fairly soft grade of aluminium and is anodised black.
It basically sheared through the cross holes, which I am not surprised about.
I measured it up and made them a new one in 304 stainless steel.

They fitted it and reported everything was fine, they seemed very happy and more importantly their customer was happy as it saved him a few quid.

If I was to make a batch of these is there any interest or call for them?

Unless I'm very much mistaken that's a banjo from the rear shock on a C5. The C6 doesn't have them but yes, they're reknowned for shearing.

Thanks for the reply, it just goes to show my ignorance on this. I was told it was a C6 and not being familiar with the RS6 I didn't know.

If this is the case can this thread be moved to the C5 sub forum please?

Nice bit of engineering there chap
Only problem is that very few C5's are still running DRC; still a few stalwarts out there but most are on coilovers now, which is a shame.

Thanks, that was my thought regarding the C6 but it appears this is C5 even more so.

I think this maybe a non starter as there will be no demand.
