Rear Pad Change

Post by Jim Haseltine » Sat Aug 31, 2019 10:49 am

I'm fitting new rear disc & pads, I've got the handbrake wound back to the service position but now I'm a bit unsure of the sequence. Do I seat the pads with the pedal and then initialise the handbrake? I may be missing something but the Elsa intructions don't seem clear to me. On non-electric handbrake cars that's the way I'd do it but just want to be certain that I'm not going to screw things.

I did mine last year Jim and i followed what you just described, e.g. handbrake in service position, old pads off... new pads in, handbrake on.

Yep was a very easy job. Use VCDS to put it into the service position. Whip the pads out, clean the caliper etc, put new pads in, then wind the caliper back out using VCDS. The instructions are all in VCDS info box whilst you do it too.
