New intercooler offering on its way
Re: New intercooler offering on its way
Please update us on how they work, and if the AC cabin cooling stays the same on hot days.

Good to see you can retain the fans on the lower IC,s, once the bumper is fitted, wouldnt know you have the kit fitted

KWE seem to have quietly dropped their very large RS6 C6 EVO2 intercoolers. They're nowhere to be seen. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of them. They used to use the EVO1 in their promotion. Maybe it just didn't happen, and they're concentrating on the C7 & C8.welwynnick wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 6:44 pmWell, well. KWE didn't want to be out-done by Wagner, so they've introduced an EVO 2 version of their existing upgrade SMICs that are even bigger:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-RS6-4F- ... 0290.m3507By "network" I think they mean "matrix". It's so new there's no pictures and nothing on their website yet.The KWE high-performance intercoolers have the network dimensions: 255x280x160mm = 22.9 litres / pair (which is up there with the biggest Porsche and Nissan upgrade IC's)
4.59 litres per litre is more than double stock, and area / length = 29cm, so it's off the scale. It means the flow restriction should be low as long as the inlet & outlet are big enough.

No surprise really, the sales volume for any aftermarket C6 I/C's must be tiny which is why I'm amazed Wagner decided to jump in at such a late point.welwynnick wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 4:19 pmKWE seem to have quietly dropped their very large RS6 C6 EVO2 intercoolers.

Re: New intercooler offering on its way
It looks like the Chinese have copied the Wagner intercoolers now:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284365478848 ... SwX~9g57ni
The dimensions are identical. They've even copied the text from Wagner's website.
Before rubbishing the copy-cats, have a look at some of the other things that Hisinauto make, especially the inlet manifolds. There's some nice fabrication there.

Re: New intercooler offering on its way
I actually emailed them about their product, if they offer the extra radiators as wagner does, since they use their images as well. They had no clue what I was talking about

The extra coolers were conspicuously absent from their description. I would try to re-mount the stock coolers in the Wagner location, and cut the bumper bar to make room.

The stock ones have different tank endings. Probably easier to make 2 coolers. Then you would still need the wagner hoses to route the coolant.

I’m still not convinced on Chinese copies when it come to performance car parts. The pictures may look good, but when it comes to actually receiving the item, it’s nothing like the picture. I remember ordering a cheap option intercooler off of eBay for my project Astra GTE turbo, picture of cooler looked great, dimensions where spot on for my application, but when I received it the welds were like a 5 year old had had a go, and the inlet/outlet pipes were so rough to feel inside with metallic particles coming off of it when I rubbed around the inside of it to smooth it down.
But saying that it may have just been a bad one. Someone needs to do a test with this one lol

Re: New intercooler offering on its way
I've bought a couple of Chinese intercoolers for other cars. I did have some minor problems, but they were all down to the flexible hoses. As far as the build and fit were concerned, they were spot on. In each case the end tanks were cast alloy rather than fabricated. I assume they 3D print the moulds. Anyway the results were good. I recall they were quite heavy.

I don't know when it happened but it looks like KWE Racing have re-branded themselves as KW Performance, and re-designed and re-launched their RS6 EVO2 intercoolers.welwynnick wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 4:19 pmKWE seem to have quietly dropped their very large RS6 C6 EVO2 intercoolers. They've taken a leaf out of Wagner's book and made the cores stepped. Perhaps they had installation problems with the original EVO2's. The dimensions are 280 mm x 225 mm x 90 mm + 280 mm x 190 mm x 55 mm = 8.6 litres each, so about the same as Wagner.
Alternatively they might simply be distributing the Chinese coolers?
