Re: Anyone know any info on this rs6 c6?
I went to see it in Birmingham in March.
It's cat C damaged repaired, had lots of things missing, and was full of faults.
I'm normally happy to take on hopeless cases, but not that one. I can tell you lots about it if you wish.

Originally on my radar too last year... I refrained and as Nick said, wasn't 'worth it'.

Good job you asked OP! What's the stats on it?
Re: Anyone know any info on this rs6 c6?
So what price would you guys put on it considering what’s wrong with it?
I don’t mind taking on the work
Just would like to know what I’m getting myself into
Haven’t gone to view it yet
Looking to go this weekend
Thanks guys

Re: Anyone know any info on this rs6 c6?
How can that be estimated without knowing what's wrong with it?
Re: Anyone know any info on this rs6 c6?
what is it on the market at?
Re: Anyone know any info on this rs6 c6?
8-9k max.
You’ll likely to need additional 2-5k to get it back on the rd, probs less (tbc?) if you are skilled, willing to DIY and above all have lots of patience!
I do not want to discourage you but suggest to do your maths and inspect it thoroughly.
Good luck!

Re: Anyone know any info on this rs6 c6?
There's a thread about this very car last year, when it was advertised at £10k, and it never sold. I was thinking £6-7k, but maybe that's being a bit uncharitable.
I bought a different fixer-upper earlier this year, and that was after I did an OBD2 scan of all the faults. It was declared spares repairs because of a misfire, which I fixed easily. However I since found lots of other hidden faults, some of them not obvious or readily apparent, but quite shocking. It took the shine off the bargain, and for a damage repair car, I think there would be much more scope for hidden problems. The real problems won't simply be lights, leaks, noises etc.

Thanks for that.
On reflection, if that car is only worth 9k, then the Cat C car is definitely only worth 7k.
An extensively damaged scrap RS6 C6 recently sold on eBay for £6k, which makes you think.

I don't want to dig the knife in on what used to be somebody's pride and joy, but if you look at the MoT history you can see that it's been off the road for a long time (3 yrs IIRC).
It used to be registered as RS56 TOM .

Re: Anyone know any info on this rs6 c6?
The V12 TT engine is pretty robust, apart from a charge cooling system designed by monkeys, and an expensive pair of chocolate teapot coil packs. The coils are prone to overheating, and bad plugs make it worse. I located the bad coils with diagnostics, and removed and replaced them with my stock of good spares. It's not an easy job and only a few people do it.c3nturi0n wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 10:49 pmCHEERS NICK. The engine oil cooler was also leaking, and someone had fitted US-spec front discs to UK calipers, and they're not compatible. They have different diameter and different offset, so the pads weren't sitting right and the outboard pistons were about to come out of the calipers. Its really scary what some people do to cars.
