Started up the car ,which had already been run so was warm.
Puff of smoke clearly visible in the mirror .
Presuming this is unusual.
37,600 miles.

I once saw smoke on mine when I went to buy it. But I've never seen any since, but I've serviced it since then, and look after it well. Was it blue (oil) or black (unburnt fuel) smoke? Some people have said they've had smoke on start up after not using theirs for a while. I've left mine 2 weeks before and never any smoke on start up, or at all in fact, and I'm now on 110k. I was told by a previous owner that Audi had replaced all the valve stem seals on mine earlier in its life under warranty, which I've also heard a few have required this. Check it tomorrow morning again for smoke on initial start up, as this could be your problem.
One of the potential issues with buying a low mileage car........the issues haven't yet been ironed out by previous owners!

I will do that.
I will start it when I get home tonight.

Have someone else start it and you watch the tail pipes. Video it and post it up. If you google RS6 smoke on start up you'll find links to here and you tube!
As the cars are getting older the rubber/plastic seals in the engine bay are starting to perish more often now so there's a few cars on here with oil in the turbos, intercoolers etc which would explain "a little bit of smoke".
However, if you've got a smoke screen behind you, similar to my video below, then it's probably going to be expensive.

Nothing to see here.
Thanks for your help so far.
I will keep an eye on it and film it if it keeps happening.
Perhaps it was a ghost cloud?
