Hey folks
Looking to remove my mirror caps. But don't want to break anything. Do they need to be removed from the car or can the cap be pulled off? If so any idea how?

Re: Mirror cap/cover removal??
Most modern Audi mirrors are much the same. You remove the glass - usually by tilting it out at the top as much as possible then carefully levering it with a wide lever. Once the glass is out you can see screws that mount the motor, the indicator bar and the ones that fix the cap to the frame (if it doesn't just clip in place like it does on the A1). Can't say if that's the method for the C6 but I'd bet there's a video or two on YouTube somewhere.

I couldn't find a video that seemed to show the process to remove the cap. I had the glass out but everything felt very attached even after removing the screws. Although I hadn't removed the motor. I'll have another look. Just wary of snapping something expensive.

i've replaced the covers in the way Jim describes, just take your time and be firm but gentle and all is ok. it was similar to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3nO0rMUyOU

Couldn't budge them at all. All the screws out, couldn't get any of it apart without feeling like something was going to break. I have no patience for these type of things though.
