I had been contemplating on the idea of doing one... i get the benefits but was wondering are there any side effects i should be aware of (for a car that’s 100K now)?

In addition, would you recommend oil change right after the clean or it can be done anytime?

Cheers

If you mean the terraclean type service then it's pretty much a waste of time on direct injection engines. The worst area for carbon build up is the back of the intake valves and as fuel and therefore cleaner doesn't pass the valves it won't help.

Here's my before/after picture thread with them done at 96k miles, long story short, not really worth it.

Cheers guys.

Did you notice any performance gains or "smoothness" post CC?

If i was to go ahead and do it, would you recommend that i do CC near the oil service?

Absolutely no gains or smoothness at all, there just wasn't enough carbon collected on mine to make any difference at all. However if you were to do a CC then I'd do it as close to the oil service as possible.
