I don't think anybody's under any obligation to read or write anything on a forum.
It's just that some people tend to post questions, and some people tend to post answers.

Never mind 1000 bhp, the way that torque curve is capped, it looks like 1000 lb-ft ought to be achievable.

In Paul's defense, he is many hundreds of miles away from the car and getting feedback or updates and images is challenging. Hopeful that when it is actually finished and collected we can all learn more.
Some thread pointers for you Paul x
1. exhaust pics
2. engine bay shot
3. selection of car shots
4. final dyno
5. full mod list
6. boost info
7. fuel
8. draggy/vbox times . 0-60mph/100-200 kmh/ 1/4mile
9. in-car video to vmax
10. pic of your misses for the lads (or just me)

Simon thank you for the clarification, I can imagine after many years of posting <beep> ok forums that you’ve completely mastered it. Your advice is therefore imo priceless, I just hope that the almighty one (Zex) finds my future postings to his high standards. Do you think I should post what the weather is like at the time of posting and maybe describe my surroundings? Just to give the reader the back ground and some in depth information. For instance just now I’m sitting taking a <beep> in my toilet.

Dp’s +exhaust,
Marston intercoolers - removed and stock refitted
upgraded injectors,
modified air boxes,
sportmile gearbox.
Upgraded all the suspension and have full ceramics as well.
Made 1000 odd ps on the 850’s so keen to see what these new turbos do
viewtopic.php?f=47&t=131533&start=15#p912321I should have results this week, unfortunately we had a hold up on the exhaust side of things.
I’ve went full 3.5” from the turbos back, I wanted to retain some level of quiet.
Opted for 5” silencers and the wrong size came, so we lost a couple of days waiting on new ones.
Exhaust is now finished and the car will be back at Mrc tomorrow for a week of testing and mapping.
As said TTEs rep suggests we should do 1000hp minimum especially with my spec.
My car ran 880ps and 1200nms on the 850’s on a mild map and 1008ps on race fuel. I’m hoping the new turbos do 1050+ps on 99 and upwards of 1150 on race.
I think the curve will move slightly to the right as it’s a bigger turbine wheel, I’m hoping we don’t lose too much spool as the 850’s were incredible in that sense.
Will post all findings good and bad throughout next week

Cats are gone mate, dyno chart is on Mrc Facebook page I don’t have a copy on my phone. Car was stupidly fast on the 850’s, mid to top end was mind blowingly fast for such a big car
You won’t be able to release the full potential without doing the gearbox . Mrc are having a new dyno installed, dougs cleared a full two weeks to work on mines. The turbos aren’t doing what we expected hence there being delays with my figures, I’m also changing my exhaust spec to exactly what iainH has suggested. 3.5” into 3” with X pipe
Also seen someone mention torque, my car made 1440nms on the 850’s
1.45 bar mines peaked at and tapered to 1.3 on the tte 850’s
Running the marston intercoolers yes mate and aqua mist water meth kit with the biggest nozzles available. Hoping by the end of this month we will have the car done, I really wanna do vmax in it before I sell it
Now I remember - was it 1440 Nm on race fuel? You must have been peaking around 2 bar to get that.
1.45 bar peak boost on race fuel it was, yes selling to build a TT R8. Doesn’t bother me, someone will get an amazing c6 out of it. Plus my b5 is nearly finished, Mrs would leave me if I keep them all

Re: Turbos - options.
Awesome, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread awaiting the end results
My understanding is Wagner coolers might be available by the start of next year, so if they're a better unit than any currently available that could only be beneficial for the engine temps
Re: Turbos - options.
My engine is just going back together now after turbo was leaking oil, I decided not to upgrade because I would need to do a lot more to the car ... gearbox and other bits , car is at 749ps 1039 nm, which seems to enough for this car atm.Jim Haseltine wrote:Judging from the prodigious quantities of oil accumulating in my intercooler hoses (approx 600mL in 4 weeks) and evidence inside the turbo outlet pipes I suspect that the seals in my turbos are no longer at their best. Not surprising as the car has now over 110K on it.
I can see I've got a number of choices:
1 rebuild mine - cons being a) their condition is unknown so it might not be possible and b) the length of time the engine will be out of the car
2 source and rebuild used units - cons being a) as above re condition and b) they aren't easy to find
3 new OE or similar units
4 some sort of upgrade
Choices 2, 3 & 4 have the slight edge of reducing the overall time for the job as I won't have to wait for the units to be rebuilt.
So: advice/options/opinions?

Re: Turbos - options.
Life (and the weather 'cos I'm working outside) has got in the way of my job. If the rain keeps off today I should be able to get the handbrake reset and oil in the engine.
Then I'll see if my rebuild of the turbos has been a success. I'm expecting a fair bit of smoke for a while when(if) the engine starts.

And... it's raining. Again. So despite having upgraded my VCDS to the latest version I won't get the handbrake reset today 'cos there's no way I'm risking using a battery charger with this much water around.
Re: Turbos - options.
New numbers this week are 1028hp 1244nm On the new exhaust.
Still stock Intercoolers but see now are using the WMI kit for cooling.

Re: Turbos - options.
So is that 1014 without WMI, and 1028 with WMI?
They're amazing results - isn't it time to put them on Audi-Sport:

Re: Turbos - options.
Seems so..
I’m told still tuning and more to come over the next few weeks. Hearing new Intercoolers due to land and try this week so hopefully the numbers really bump up as stock coolers must be choking at this power. But I’m told still little left in the turbos right now too with stock coolers.
