I'm going to go for the Wagner IC system...so that should help re cooling. I was just going to settle for a stage 2 set up with a valved exhaust system to keep the noise in check (day to day car + kids/wife being the reason why) - but this would be expensive, so i decided to spend that budget on upgraded turbo's instead, and keep the stock exhaust system, mated to the 3" Peron racing Downpipes which will allow significant performance benefit over the entire rev range when working with the Wagner IC system compared to that of a stage 2.RS6BHAV wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 11:18 pmI’d add a water meth kit to that too (Aquamist hfsv3/4). But don’t get it mapped in so engine relies on it, more just to aid cooling. If the engine is coming out i would upgrade the box. You’ll have a reliable 900ps car.RMC83 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 12:49 pmThis is what i'm trying to get my head around.welwynnick wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 1:25 pmFunny how people can run a stage 2 tune up to 1100Nm with a stock gearbox without a problem.
But when they go to stage 3 and 1200Nm and an upgraded gearbox they seem to break?

I'm planning for a stage 2.5 type of set up, ie...bigger turbo's & uprated IC, DP's etc...but stock exhaust system + stock gearbox & plan to limit the set-up to Max 850hp / 1100Nm. This should give me a nice linear power curve and a flat torque curve from 3k rpm to redline, which isn't possible with std turbo's and IC...but yes...the question i have is will the stock gearbox cope, given that uprated ones seem to go pop with a set up less than 100hp / 100Nm difference to what i'm planning.
(As reliable as a car pushing 1/3 additional over stock can be)
The GB upgrade is just a step too far for me...given the fact that i'm out in Malaysia, so upgraded GB costs inc shipping is not really on the radar for me...just a step too far just now in terms of costs. However, with the planned set up, should more "funds" become available for an upgraded GB, then i would already have the major items installed, to allow for around 1000hp. But for now, i'll have to limit the system based on stock GB. I'm just not sure what that "limit" should be. I'm thinking around the 850hp/1100Nm, but if that's deemed as "pushing it" - then i will dial back to say 820 or 830hp. The peak numbers aren't my main concern...having the bigger turbos c/w wagner IC should allow for a nice straight torque line to redline...which is my real target, as this will make the biggest difference between my proposed set up and a stage 2 running stock turbo's, as the turbo's run out of puff at around 5k rpm & torque drops off a cliff.
The above is just my thinking when trying to come up with a spec that suits me, my use of the car, my budget & location (ie, high daytime temp and humidity)
Cheers
