Does that mean a change of plan then? Are you still going to sell the B7 and C7, but hold onto the C6 and R8? That's a few tough decisions to make there.

Nick

Edit - sorry, I did mean the WB B5.

B7 went years ago mate, c7 will be up for sale next week. C6 and b5 will be kept and used in the summer months I think. I thought the car was fast before, it’s like a whole new car. The new turbos are a massive massive step up. There’s literally no let up, from 3k until it changes gear it just keeps wanting to go. The seats we installed have helped loads when pushing the car on. They are being trimmed to match the rest of the leather interior.
Managed just under 25mpg on way home to Image

…. The cars finished now, after looking at all the data the cars been dialled back to 1050ps and 1200nms. I feel that’s the sweet spot.
I've been wondering about that comment for two months. MRC advice to settle on 1050PS/1200Nm sounds sensible, and I'm sure you're doing the right thing, but I can't help wondering what "all the data" really is. Experienced tuners know the warning signs to look for when you're pushing your luck, but seem to keep it to themselves, so I had a guess what they might be:

Miss-firing
High exhaust gas temperature
High unburnt hydrocarbons
High water temperature
High oil temperature
Low oil pressure
Oil contamination
Low fuel pressure
Low compression pressure
High crankcase pressure
Transmission slippage errors
Fuel injector duration
Have to use cold plugs

Am I warm?

No because we ended up leaving it at 1080ps and 1300nms Image

Pick a number sir - any number. How many zeros would you like?

I'm glad you gave it another chance.

Sorry actual aftermarket bucket seats I’ve had made, I went for the carbon instead of the Kevlar option that was available. The c6 seats aren’t great when pushing on that’s all. With regards to the car it’s 110% for sale it was always going to be, I’m wanting to build a big HP gen 2 r8 twin turbo. Considering rsq8 also so c6,c7 and widebody b5 will all be for sale

Collected the car the other day. IT WILL NOT BE FOR SALE! It’s absolutely epic, so hard to describe the way it delivers the power

I’m around a second quicker on the new turbos. This is with pretty poor traction in 3rd, I’ll knock a little bit off this I reckon

Which App is that? I'm looking for something to replace my decade old performance app.

Poor traction in THIRD!!! I thought the point of 100-200kmh times was to take traction out of the equation. Still, I did think you'd get into the fours. That's seriously fast.

Have you tried 0-60, 1/4 mile etc?

Are you going to take it down a runway somewhere, or does that count as social gathering?

Never managed any other testing, I snapped my front driveshafts. This is full weight on 99 octane fuel. I’ll go close to 4 seconds dead, there’s plenty left in it mate. The roads had just been gritted I was losing traction around 5k rpm in 3rd

Sorry to hear about the driveshafts, and surprised as well. The wheels and tyres tend to act as a torque limiting clutch that tend to protect the downstream elements of the transmission, so I'd expect the upstream elements like the gearbox input shaft to be more at risk with such a high-torque tuned engine. From a simple minded perspective, the front driveshafts only have to spin the wheels, which any A6 engine would be able to do. Just thinking out loud, if the traction control is intervening in a low gear, that might cause the brakes to fight the engine with the transmission stuck in between, and something would have to give. The "torque-limiting-clutch" thing wouldn't work. It's kind of worrying.

Just a thought. Are the new 1000 bhp turbos giving the RS6 a new lease of life, and tending to boost residuals?

Traction was fully off, car kicked down two gears and the driveshafts went. I’ll have photos and more info Tuesday when I strip the car down
