Returning to the RS fold

Post by stevo55 » Sat Feb 23, 2019 1:31 pm

Been a while since I posted on here but long story short I’m digging into returning to Audi RS. Had a C6 loon then a C7. Currently in a 2017 M3 Competition but now having a second car (bought for the winter that never truly happened) I don’t really drive it that much. Epic car but paying a chunk of money for a car I’m not driving (twice in last 3 months) isn’t the most sensible. So-looking at a few options (C6/C7/RS7) and whether the sums add up. Seen this online:

Anyone know this car? Seems to be a nice example and the MTM tunes aren’t cheap.

Ok so I just spoke to the dealer who came across very well:

1. It’s the only C6 in existence with that colour.
2. Previous owner sold it due to a divorce and wanted to buy it back after but by then it was too late (poor bastard)
3. MTM tuning was carried out by QST in May 2015
4. Current owner doesn’t use it so is selling it (S & R). Bit like me with the M3.

Was looking for a darker car but it does look good. Going to see what can be done with the M3 as for once in my life they have held their value big time (they stopped making them last year, newer ones have Euro FPF which has killed the sound and new M3 still over a year away and will cost a fortune) so fingers crossed I won’t lose anything (I took a very deep bath with the A45 AMG which was the last car).

Here’s where someone that knows this car enters stage left to say ‘Don’t Do It!’

Great car and i’m sure you won’t regret.

The only observation is that for that year and the asking price i would expect it to have Ceramic brakes.

All the best!

Hi,

The guy that sold it due to the divorce clearly cherished this car, the owner since I suspect didn't.
The pictures on the website are from ~2 years ago when it was originally sold.

It runs well, and the interior is great, but the outside isn't great cosmetically (IMHO).

Sale or return through the garage. Owner will NOT budge on price, even by £1.

If you don't mind the cosmetics, or don't mind doing a bit of TLC to tart it up, I say its a great car mechanically.

Been getting a load more quotes coming in plus I’m in dialogue with a forum member with a cracking C6 saloon that’s got a fantastic spec (including ceramics) and has spent a ton of money on it. Wasn’t looking to go back into a loon but this may be good to let pass. C7’s and RS7’s are really holding their value well it seems.

Price: seems a bit high. If someone's not going to budge on the money side then they ought to stand firm on ensuring that there are no hidden gremlins.
Mileage, Ok.
Extras, I'd expect those. But I wouldn't pay a premium for the engine mods.
As you know with these motors, the devil is in the detail.
No price analysis for the three '10ers on CarGurus.
Go on, you know it makes sense! I made the same journey 12 months ago- no regrets.
:redrs4: :FIREdevil: No mods. :bigblink:
