Oil catch can?
Oil catch can?
Anyone running a catch can setup?
Re: Oil catch can?
I used to have one on my Skyline but I'm fairly sure I haven't seen any-one fit an aftermarket one to their RS6 yet as the oil separation system already has 2 "catch can" type devices. One is built-in to the top/lid of the oil reservoir to catch the big particles of oil and a small one at the top/rear of the block for "fine" particles that get past the big one.
It us usually the fine separator which blocks and causes a build up of pressure leading to oil residue. This is the image taken from page 18 in the Study Guide (found here) which give you more info.

Re: Oil catch can?
Thanks. I actually had a proper look at the pcv system the other day and decided it seemed redundant to fit one.

Looks like I've got one on my car. It's the RH intercooler hose.
