Emigrating with the RS6!? Opinions....
I'm starting a new life in the south of France in January. I was planning on bringing the RS6 with me. I'm waiting in Marseille airport right now for my delayed plane to come back to the UK after sussing out the area this week. We've hired a car out here for the few days and the roads are definately suited (especially in aix-en-provence town) to small cars. The French don't don't seem to look after their cars like we do, so I'm a little concerned my car will get ruined too. So it's made me think I may need to sell the car instead.
I think selling it over there will be hard work being rhd, even though I could price it a lot lower than current cars out here for sale, and still get potentially more than I'd get in the UK! Similar cars to mine are being advertised for €30k!
But on another note, the drive down will be epic, as will some of the roads, especially heading to the mountains for ski times! So I'd also like to keep it.
I'm just posting this really for opinions or experiences from people who may have done this.

Driving in the south of France is not for the feint hearted. The RS6 is a big old hector to be throwing around Provence. Further north and west in France I’d say yes, keep it. Lots of narrow streets in Aix along with a lessay fair attitude to cars will have you on edge.
Don’t forget the rules on speeding too.

Rules on speeding? As in the new lower limits you mean?
Yes I enjoyed the sof driving experience! Ha! But that was in a hire car! I'd be needing to buy another car when we get out there anyway for the wife, so the RS6 will mainly be for me commuting to work and those roads are pretty good.

Well, yes, 80ks not 90ks now on the D roads.
Rules on speeding full stop. They do not tolerate, loads on the internet google it up. In extreme cases you’ll lose your car.

Well the trip down i'll have the family in the car anyway, so i'll just have it set on cruise to the speed limit. Quite a few speeders chancing it on the roads mind whilst out there. In fact we went past a peage one day and after the barrier were about 20 police with guns waiting! I'm assuming they knew someone who was speeding was coming their way! Bit excessive but if that's what they're like!!!
Re: Emigrating with the RS6!? Opinions....
They will catch you in section then stop you at the peage. They actively seek speeders and will do the worst.
They trawl the manifests around Le Mans so they know what they are targeting.

Re: Emigrating with the RS6!? Opinions....
Other than the local plod and city drivers, does anyone else have any experiences?
Re: Emigrating with the RS6!? Opinions....
I'm considering Ger as my next destination... and I will certainly be keeping mine .
On a more serious note, i'd suggest to follow your heart... i'm sure you'll find rational excuse to keep it .
All the best!

For me the RS6 is all about being a fast estate car!
