The coolant pipes

Post by Doug_RS6 » Fri Oct 12, 2018 4:14 pm

Noticed that my coolant pipes aren't looking too clever. Only under the bracket. Rest looks remarkably good. Is there anything really against cutting out the sections and putting rubber lines in? Don't suppose anyone has the diameters to hand?

That is excellent mate. Why did you remove such big sections though? On mine anyway it's litterally about 3 inches of each pipe needing replaced. So wasn't even going to bother giving Audi the parts money. Was just going to cut and replace the rotten part with rubber hose.

What diameter did you need to join the pipes? It's about £200 for the pipes isn't it?

Oh and what did you need to remove for access? One pipe is fairly easy to replace I gather?

Thanks. What diameter of rubber hose did you use for them? I take it the £171 is the longer one that you cut?

Perfect mate. 16mm inner for both. That's very kind of you. Unfortunately I'm working tomorrow all day. I didn't even know there was an event on if I'm honest. New to the whole VAG scene. Most of the stuff I've bought in the past is too obscure for any kind of meet to be organised.
