OK. Keyless cars. There have been a few stories in my local press about theft of such with the use of signal amplifiers and the like. Now, my car is parked overnight in an awkward place which takes a bit of back/forward shunting to get out of so not easy to drive stright off the drive and there are other on drive keyless performance vehicles close (a couple of Ms, and a handsful of RS models) so not the most easy of the available targets.
However, I've been thinking of adding a concealed immobiliser switch of some sort to the car as I have on my classics. Maybe a switch that isolates the starts switch, something like that which was easy enough in my other cars. But this is a can bus car and I've never mucked about with one of those before.
Am I likely to cause myself problems if I simply insert a switch in the start circuit?
Or are my concerns about theft inflated?

Amazon sell faraday bags, one of my keys goes in that in the safe, the other is in another bag elsewhere.

That being said the car is locked in the garage, with the track car on the trailer in front of the garage door chained to the garage wall and a security post and the work car blocking the trailer in aswell so it'd take a month to get to the RS6 anyway!!

Jim, did you look at the Ghost immobiliser. Saw one fitted to a new transit van and from what I saw, this device is pretty awesome. Not sure on price tho

iBlue, Does the same as a ghost but newer tech and cheaper. When you get in the car a key pad appears on your phone and you type in a code or you can set it to auto, phone only has to be in the car. A few systems are just starting to appear with this technology, no need to cut into the canbus like ghost does, that voids the warranty as someone on here found out.

I bought one, not had it fitted as have pandora which has similar tech built in already. I considered ghost but its very over priced for a basic immobiliser. The iBlue is much cooler and the no canbus cuts is a big plus warranty wise
