I make no apologies for this being in russian, these were the only guys helpful enough to provide the file to me FOC, hats off to them

For those that need it this is the fluid specification for the ZF gearboxes, known as document TE-ML 11

This is the ZF workshop manual for the 6HP26 (Jaguar based as it happens)

There are a lot of similarities in this and its helpful in instances BUT this IS NOT the A61 version used in the RS6; you are better to get hold of a copy of ELSA which has it all in there apart from the valve body split which they do not recommend you tackle yourself (but for the hardcore of us out there we ignore them and do it anyway of course)

This is the ZF family tree that attempts to explain the coding differences between the various flavours of gearboxes they do

I will let you decide whether they meet that objective or not

This is the Sonnax presentation that describes the differences between the first and second generation ZF gearboxes, which does a much netter job than the ZF family tree but still has its shortfalls all said and done. Still, a useful source of detail.

This is the Sonnax ZIP KIT (repair kit) details - you get this when you buy the zip kit itself, but for those commercially astute bods that just need the dimensions of an odd o-ring to order from a third party - or those that just need to know what valve does what, or what ports or pressure tracts to vacuum test you will find this very useful

Here's an analysis of some Virgin ZF-Lifeguard 6, just in case you wondered what was in it and wanted to compare to ANOther flavour

Here's the detail for the internal locations of check valve balls and filters and accumulators for the valve body itself for the 6HP28, thanks to Sonnax for providing the info

Note this also applies to the 6HP21 and 6HP34, in other words all second gens.

For those fluent in Excel this is the file I use for recording the blueprint build of a 6HP28A61, feel free to use modify to suit your purposes, but dont come crying to me if it doesnt work for you! I share this only for those who know how to use it, I havent got the time to explain it to a non excel bod Im afraid!

Use this at your own risk!
