Post by huntersmob » Fri Aug 17, 2018 4:09 pm

hello all,

does anyone know if the c6 has rear brake pads wear monitoring in the electric brake side of it, I have read that some of the audi's do.
i ask as i had the warning light on and did the fronts as they where down to the wear indicators but still the light would not go off its had new wear leads on also.

regards martin

The rears don't have any wear sensors, either for foot or hand brake as both use the same pad.

As for the warning light, the wiring from the engine firewall bulkhead which goes down through the wing to the arch where the removable cable you've already replaced is usually the cause if the pad is still good. I've had to have my right side loom completely replaced from the firewall all the way down to the hub to fix this on mine, although it was probably easily repairable "if" the break was obvious but with the engine fitted there's no visibility of the loom at all.
