ACC not avaible

Post by rs6danbar » Wed Aug 15, 2018 12:46 pm

Attempted to use my cruise control this morning, where unavaible. Got the message " ACC ( Automatic cruise control ) not avaible".

I know the radar lens sometimes gets dirty and then wont be able to measure the distance to the the next car but it should not be a problem as i just washed it.

I also read somewhere that the rotors / breakpads have something to do with it, how could?

Recently swapped front pads but i cant understand how that could be the problem.

Anyone else experienced this before? New radar costs alot.

I saw this on my Golf and couldn't figure out what was up but I pressed the speed increase a couple of times and it then allowed me to activate it. Maybe if your ACC speed is set to 0 then it won't turn on?

I had a same problem with mine... noticed that radar cover on front grille was slightly cracked.

New part ordered/DIY fitted and it works like a treat now :).

Saw that mine was slightly loose, gonna see if maybe thats the problem :)

EDIT:

Just saw that mine is cracked aswell, i dont see why that should keep it from working but i guess sinces theres wires running into it, thatjustmight be the case.
Cleaned the lense and cover, gonna try it out otherwise I'll order a new one, thanks! :beerchug:

Can you wire the heater somehow?

FYI - Just +/- wired the heater, ACC works perfectly fine without it but i guess in cold weathers the lens might need to be defrosted sometimes.

For anyone interested, the part number for the Cover (called cover for radioator grille in ETKA) is 4F0 853 631 G.

For my car, the colour code is Y9B - brilliant black - which I assume the colour code for all cars as the middle of all grilles are black?

The Y9B seems to match the codes used for the grill itself - see other thread ...
