The picture with link pipe is the cut and join pipe the other small pipe I changed the other rubber pipe just in case of any wear under the hose only £13.00 from Audi
Right so that’s all done now refiled antifreeze and water run car up to all most temperature ran out of time as had to pack away tools so will run up to full temperature tomorrow and check for any leaks 👍
Plus what’s the best way to check for air locks is it best to run up to temperature with cap off to let any air out ?

Hi there! I'm new to this forum (and only been an RS6 owner for a year!) but I've now got this problem too! My car went in the the local main dealer (Poole, Dorset) for a service and MOT and has now developed a major leak from these pipes in the offside wheel arch. Audi have quoted silly money to do the job - does anyone know of a reputable and experienced independent garage near me that would be able to do this work for a reasonable price? I'm afraid I'm not handy enough to take on a job like this!
Any help that you guys can offer would be much appreciated! Thanks, Dave

That's because Audi will have quoted for a complete replacement of the long pipe. The whole job is 4 hose clips, a nut and a bolt. It's the last hose clip, removing and refitting the hose at that end of the pipe that takes 25 hours work. Any competent mechanic should have no problem doing a cut and join job in a few hours.
My next challenge is going to be the oil seals but they may have to wait until next spring.

Sort of. Thought I'd got the coolant level correct then luckily my first run was short but long enough for the thermostat to open - soon as that happened I got a low coolant warning.
Topped it up once and didn't have any more problems.

I did the job during the summer and then did "full test" in Europe covering 1500miles... no issues at all... make sure you test it for any coolant links on the clips/hose ends do recommend to run it for good 20-30miles to see if any leaks develop etc. If not, fill it up and forget about it... enjoy your motor :).

Do you mean the dreaded oil pump shaft seal? Good luck with that one if it is
