I'm seriously looking at my first purchase of Audi RS... having owned several V8's in the past I do not expect mpg figures to be comparable to avg. family car but I was wondering what do you normally get when driving in town vs. m'way cruising (if such thing exists with V10's

)?
thanks.

In the time I had mine I did a mixture of motorway and town driving everyday and I think I averaged around 21mpg. It is a heavy beast and drinks accordingly.

For another take on this, I operate on miles per full tank, as I fill up from near empty and measure the miles until next fill.
I typically get between 230-280 miles out of a full tank (i.e. per circa £95).
Mixed driving i.e. motorway and city, and normal and (the fun stuff).

I got similar to mbelle - 250-ish on a tank doing a mix of town/M-Way/Commute driving. The highest I could get with realistic driving was mid 20's on a motorway (330-ish miles to a tank) but I did once get 30.7mpg (claimed) when I was forced to drive through all the 50mph average cameras on the M1 from London to Birmingham, which is an unrepresentative case TBF
Worst was track-days where I'd see under 5mpg but as the OBD stops displaying at 5mpg it was a guess as to how much less it was but I was doing 2-3 tanks in a day.

I would say an average of 16-18 mpg in reality. Most I ever saw was 25mpg and I was driving like Miss Daisy pootling along.
As the saying on the C6 goes:
‘The only thing they can’t get past is a petrol pump’!!

I usually do the full tank thing and get something around 250-280 between filling. My commute is around 50-60 miles daily depending on the routes I take with approx 25% being motorway and/or dual carriageway while my weekend driving varies between <20 and lots. If I manage a whole week on one tank I count myself lucky, last couple of weeks thanks to 10 miles of 40mph roadworks every day I've arrived home on Friday night with the refuel warning showing whereas most weeks I'm refilling after 6 days.

Brimmed the tank first thing last Saturday morning, 273 miles tonight when the 'Please refuel' warning displayed, it'll be 283 miles when I refill it tomorrow morning.
Additional - 72.9 litres to brim the tank this Saturday morning, same station, same pump.

ive just returned from a long trip and with a fully loaded car and many overtaking (single lane highways) opportunities i managed 620km on the way back from a full to brim tank (380ish miles) and 580km on the way up (far more overtaking and grid lock traffic on the way out)
https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/Narr ... 080167!3e0
Route is above 622km up 622 back with a stop at this air museum;

Around town i will average 18l/100km which is 15.69 mpg
Stage 2 no cats and a trans tune.

That's what I expected tbh

.
Chequered - very interesting that you got 580km on a long trip - mine will be mainly used in / around London with 1-3 major Euro trips (one Alpine and 1/2 trips to the coastline). So, more the merrier to compensate for super-urban Lon mpg.

Yeah 580 on the way up, lots more overtaking and 620 on the return trip which was actually the best ive ever seen from it.

Very nice... I will be getting mine very soon and will report on it to keep the thread going

.
As suggested by many, fuel consumption should be last thing on my list as mine will be driven occasionally and mainly at the weekend! Lon Underground is my "personal chauffer" (sadly).

That is very interesting.
My car is standard. I often do long trips too (UK to Poland every couple of years) with a full car (and usually roof box actually) and can't get near that.
I wonder if that's your tune...?

340 miles absolute most I've achieved on a tank. On the day I took delivery driving down South from Perth (Scotland!).
I try and squeeze 300 miles out of a tank before refuelling.
Always run on Tesco 99 or Shell V-Power.
I've never seen more than 25mpg out of it on a run.
Long term average sits at 18.8mpg.

I have put a few thousand miles on my stage 2 760ps avant. the best that I have had is 24mpg on a trip to holland including some 100mph cruising and a few squirts, around town and short trips is normally 17mpg and my average is 20 mpg so far. The worst was 8mpg on a 20 mile trip with loads of traffic and sitting at a standstill.
but it is super fun.
