10 miles into driving home last night - Bing - "Key not in vehicle".
Yes it is, it's in my pocket, exactly where it's been all day (and the day before that and the day before etc etc).
Mile or so later the warning cleared.
Another 10 miles or so - Bing - "Key not in vehicle".
Cleared again by the time I was home.
It's not the first time it's happened either.
Occasionally recently it'll refuse to lock or unlock in keyless mode but always does so on the fob buttons.
Strange.....
I changed the fob battery a couple of months back, is there a recommended make of battery? You'd think that one battery would be much the same as another but I remember my ex-wife's Freelander having a hissy fit if there wasn't a Panasonic battery in the fob.

Could be a duff battery.

I fitted a brand new battery in mine and keyless wouldn’t work, although the lock/unlock did!!

Audi gave me a battery for FREE!!!!!! And it’s been bang on, working fine since. 5 months and counting!!!

It's the battery most likely, I started using the 2nd key and the problem was solved. A couple months later I tried to use the original key and it was not registering keyless feature nor the fob. didn't manage to put a new battery but obviously the battery has gone flat.
