mmi not working

How can anyone help me please,
I have a c6 RS6 and when I turn the radio on it plays for about 5 secs and turns off along with the screen that turns off too as this is all happening all the buttons by the gear stick illuminate red for about 2 seconds.
Has anyone come across this and fixed it , I checked around on google and some people are talking about a 3 finger reset , I tried this but no success ,any ideas ?.
