LED Rear Lights

Hi
I have a C6 Avant and it seems I have the (reasonably) common issue of the rear light going dim or sporadically refusing to light up at all. I have taken the light out and checked connectors but I am presuming its a knackered board.
Given that I don't fancy splitting the light I was just going to replace with another unit (this is out outside one), had anyone bought the Valeo unit from ECP / Online and if so does it match the OEM exactly or will I need to buy a whole set?
Alt do you know if all C6 Avant lights are the same or is the RS6 one specific, I am thinking here that I could pick one up off ebay etc from a similar age car all be it a different spec.
I haven't checked costs with Audi yet but I am guessing it will be silly

Hi,
See this thread regarding the taillights from ECP -

And according to the C6 RS6 study guide (courtesy of IanH755 -
viewtopic.php?f=47&t=121159&p=805291&hi ... dy#p805291), "The rear lights of the Audi RS 6 are identical to those of the Audi A6 in the Highline trim version".
Hopefully this helps,
Douglas

Thanks for that, this was my concern that the new light just stood out as a new light and that in reality i would need to replace all 4 (or at the min left and right)
I may be on the hunt for a used lamp (although it could then go again based on age) or just have to stump up for a full set.
Has anyone any experience of splitting the light, is it as prone to disaster as it looks??
If anyone has a D/S Rear Outside LED light for sale (or a full set) please let me know

I had this recently an initially just replaced both outers (although only one side was occasionally going dim). It looked fine but I could just see the inners has a bit of surface dullness to them due to age (was better after the car was detailed) but I just decided to replace them to cure my OCD. You could happily just use the Valeo outers and go from there.

I also have OCD when it comes to stuff like this so I know it would bother me.
My other thought was to buy the outers and then ad a clear / very light smoke film over them all so that they match
Is the Valeo outer identical looking to the OEM our would you have to replace both at the same time?

Having replaced all of them, I'm pretty certain the Valeo units were the OEM as the replacements were identical in every way (even the
Stickers on the rear of the units).

Thanks guys, it will be a set of Valeo ones in the new year I think ..............only because it has been working now for the last 4 days with no problems at all (maybe it just didn't like the -5 temps)
