Hi All,
ever since i've owned my avant the boot slams quite hard. i know this is a different mechanism on the facelift cars slightly, however my old S6 never had this behaviour.
whilst under warranty i raised the issue and was told both the gas rams and electrical motor for the open had been replaced, but this didn't fix.
most recently i spotted the boot not opening as much as normal and tried swapping out the rams myself on the hope that might solve (old rams were 600nm, new ones 650nm)
still same crashing behaviour. though opening a little further than before.
anyone else got this, or more usefully anyone else got this and resolved?

Re: crashing/dropping boot - gas rams?
Mine slams shut more forcefully than I would like. The impact is rather loud too so I tend leave stuff in the car if I get home late.
It's one place where I'd like a 'soft close' function.
Lots of supposed 'fixes' on Audiworld, ranging from software updates to new rams, motors and a latch.
Few seem to work.

Yeah, with ya Jim, I've found myself leaving stuff in the boot overnight for the same reasons, i used to flinch with the force of the slam at the start (just couldn't see how it could be right), now just used to it i guess.
