Hello, Have an C6 4F with bad shocks in the rear. thinking of deleting the whole system as done on the older version.
Is i possible to fit the S6 shocks? Or are they any good coilovers on the market?
Found those on a swedish site, about £1200
https://www.billiga-coilovers.se/shop/h ... 4037p.html
Cost about £1800 to fix the original DRC.

I spoke to Ohlins when I had my C6, and was possibly looking at them making me a custom set up.

There is a few "good" coilovers that are 100% designed for the C6 RS6.
The first is the £2600+
KW v3 with DRC cancellation plug to stop DRC warning messages (part no 3521000S) but you can get the cheaper
£2300+ version without the DRC electrical plug (part no 3521000L) and you can buy the
electrical cancellation plug separately (part no 68510400).
Bilstein sell a PSS9/B16 kit (part no 48-116541) for around £1800 but it isn't a specific "DRC removed kit" as it's missing the blanking plug so there will be an error message.
Most other manufacturers do an S6 non-DRC removal version which will fit but check their weight limits as these may not be adequate for a car which weights slightly more than the S6 and as the RS6 has nearly 130hp extra (or 300hp if mapped) that’s also something to consider.
Strangely (or maybe not), unlike the C5 where the DRC had very poor reliability and was almost always replaced with coilovers, the C6 DRC has been extremely reliable so there very few owners who have swapped so finding anyone with practical experience of how well a coilover car drives maybe difficult. I'm in the situation currently where I'm replacing the 105k mile DRC in mine with a new set of DRC and I thought about going KW but the lack of adjustable damping put me off a little.
Hope that helps.

I checked up the weight on sevral S6's and they seem to be around 2125kg depending on equipmentlist. Making the RS6 only 40kg heavier. Would be the shocks being a little softer.
Maybe S6 shocks + H&R lowering springs?

The importance is where the extra weight is, i.e. over the Front or Rear suspension, as the S6/RS6 shocks have different weight ratings for each axle (front & rear) rather than a total weight.
For example the RS6 KW v3 are 1410kg rated for the fronts yet the S6 ones by KW are only rated at 1350kg. So you've got to be careful trying to use S6 rated suspension on a RS6, it's better to use the right stuff.

I see, we choose to fix the original system instead, rearshocks and refill.

I had a front drivers side shock go earlier this year, got the car down to MRC who replaced it and re-pressurised the system but also discovered that one of the rear DRC lines would not hold pressure so opted for all 4 lines to be replaced, think the total bill was around £1300 for 4x lines, 1 new shock and all the labour and consumables so I thought that was a pretty good deal!
Definitely worth keeping the DRC if you go down the route of the H&R ARB's that IanH advises, Dynamic is the way forward for most of the driving however if the wife drives the car its a bit to firm for her so nice to be able to slacken them off a bit to keep the noise down (from her, not the car)

Ended up deleteing the whole DRC system, shocks light illuminating for now but gonna have that removed soon. Best upgrade so far. car is in a mode between superstiff sport and dynamic, you know that mode you want when dynamic is too soft and sport too hard

out of curiosity, what system did you go with? and what was the total cost to you (if appropriate to be shared)?
Thanks!
