What do you think this RS6 plate is worth ?

Post by SteveG » Fri Aug 04, 2017 6:40 pm

(Edited to remove number.)

Hi guys,

I have an option to buy the following number Rxxxxx...Which reads as Rxxx xxx with a single strategically located mounting screw. What is the most this is worth do you think ? Over a £thousand ?

Thanks

At a push 500 to the right buyer, it's not worth more than a grand.

As far as I'm concerned, an index number has no value. I'd rather have my cars with indexes that aren't easy to remember -
"I saw the car Officer, it was a black Audi estate"
"Did you see the number?"
"I think it started with a Y...."
Unless they changed the rules, you can't fit that plate to a vehicle that was first registered before September of last year.

:) Thanks Ian

Jim, I didn't quite get what you meant mate, I am not planning any hit & run antics (while leaving witnesses) so hiding the number wasn't up there in my top considerations lol.

As they excitedly screw their private plate to their car, an awful lot of 'vanity plate' owners seem to miss the hilarity that most people just look at the plate and see (forum friendly version here) BERK or PRATT based on the fact that they really can't be arsed to decipher what the plate is actually trying to say.

Much the same as how some people look at modified cars.

Or any car of a brand they have a distaste for.

I bought the plate :kissmyrings:

"Number plate haters", really ?? :drink: lol, learned something new today,.... I normally pat myself on the back when I work out what an unusual one is meant to say and even point them out to whoever else is in the car at the time

Cheers
