Also they are more likely to have the OEM's in stock. I tried to order discs and rear Ferodo pads from Euro's and they came back saying they couldn't get any of the parts and cancelled to order :(

Be careful when replacing the hoses with Braided ones. The OEM ones rust like a git and can snap very easily causing you all manner of issues! MRC twice refused to do mine due to the corrosion on the OEM lines as they said they would need to drop the engine to replace the whole line due to the lack of space to carryout a repair, which isn't strictly true but shows you that if MRC baulk at doing the job it can be "interesting".

I found a local garage near Maidstone who had a "special tool" to reflange a broken pipe when there is only 4in of clearance available and they did mine without issue.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure they inspect them before starting. If not I'll get Grizz to do the hoses as he's doing the coolant pipes in two weeks. He can do those in 4 hours without removing the engine.

Got the discs and pads on this afternoon. It was a pleasant surprise how easy it was to do them all - it was a quicker job than they were on my old S4.

Everything has worked out nicely with the change and already the feel is better than the original set up with the Ferodo pads. Thanks for all the advice.

Still getting used to the car. Standard brake performance is still better than my old B8 S4 but you can feel the extra weight of the car. It's a heavy old beastie!

The "best" bit is that you can now repeatedly stamp on the anchors with minimal fade compared to OEM and when it eventually does start to fade (can't beat the laws of friction) it's a much better pedal feel so you still know exactly how much pedal you've got left before you get to squeaky bum time :D

Do they do a plain option or drilled option?? I'm not a fan of grooved discs.
