iPhone Compatibility

Hello, I am a relatively new owner of a lovely blue RS6 C6 Avant. Although I am revelling in the power, build quality, and style, I am frustrated that I cannot play music from my iPhone 6 through the cable provided. I have updated the software to the 5570 version, but that did not help.
An old iPod works fine, using the old Apple connector cable.
Is there any fix, or do I just have to accept it?
Tim

You need to get a lightning plug adapter to go into the MMI system in the glove box and then a separate cable into the phone itself. I use this one and it works well:

Or get a Bluetooth adaptor for the mmi then you can play off any Bluetooth device. It's not the cheapest but saves you putting your phone in the glove box.

I use a magnetic holder to fix my phone to one of the air vents for easy access.

Let me know which BT one you get that works, I've got the lightning connector which works well with my iphone7+ but my daughters would agree stream their stuff from the back seats. Thx

My lightning adaptor seemed to stop working in recent software updates for some reason.

The Bluetooth option sounds perfect (avoiding the whole phone in glove box scenario)

Would someone please share a link of an example online of this exact 'bluetooth' option for 2G. Thanks in advance.

An update, I bought a ViseeO Tune2Air WMA3000A, from eBay, £60 (cheap as a working returned item). It works well with music stored on my iPhone 6s, the MMI display showing songs etc. Using Spotify it streams the music, but you have to use the phone to cue the music, as the interface does not allow remote control of the phone from the car controls.
Hope that helps.

I purchased one of these VMA3000A tune2air and whilst the car seems to recognise it is attached (the device flashes blue as per instructions, states initialising device. please wait) it then states on the MMI
"Cannot read from connected device"

Any thoughts, am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance.

THatsas your t connected to it , you need to pair with it and it will take about 30 seconds or so to start playing must after start up.

You will be looking for a Bluetooth called tune2air I think you will then be able to have bluetooth connected to mmi and the tune2air at the same time. Occasionally Iv had an issue so just unplug and plug it back in and it works
